Hi, I'm new here.
My aunt got me into cross stitching and I've only completed three so far. I have been looking for a pattern that has books in it. Or a bookcase. I am a huge book nerd and want to do a cross stitch with books.
I fear I'm not artistic enough to design my own pattern. I'm hoping someone here can help me find what I'm looking for. I've been googling for days and can't seem to find a bookish pattern.
TIA,
kutia

Re: books
Hi and welcome to the fourm. There are lots and lots of websites that offer cross stitch patterns. You might have to spend a lot of time looking through them. Have you tried googling cross stitch patterns with books? That's where I'd start. This thread http://crossstitchforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=11753" target="_blank" target="_blank might give you some ideas of places that other members have been. 123 Stitch at 123stitch.com is a place I have used, but I mostly have gotten my patterns years ago from needlework shops that aren't' around anymore. Good luck. and again Welcome

Re: books
Very recently someone on the forum was saying the same thing and quite a few were found. Sorry that I cannot remember who it was so I cannot put a link on but I am sure that someone else with a better memory or the person themselves will post soon.

Re: books
Thanks for the "Frederick the Literary" link. I do love cats and believe it or not, I have an afghan with that same design.
I'm going to add it to my list of designs I want to do.
Whenever I google "cross stitch with books", I just get listings for places that sell pattern books. But not actual patterns of books.

Heres the link to the other discussion. It was 4-5 pages back in the Wanted sectionRosemaryH wrote:Very recently someone on the forum was saying the same thing and quite a few were found. Re: books
Thank you guys so much. I saw some cool designs on the old post thread. I've seen The Bookworm before as a poster and I always wanted it. I'm not sure I have the skill yet to attempt such a big project. I'm definitely going to check out the Little House designs.
Someone mentioned checking out HAED. Could someone tell me what that is first? And maybe what a UFO is?

Re: books
HAED is Heaven and Earth Designs. If you are looking for a quicker or straight forward stitch this is not the design line for you - they are usually extremely detailed, have many colours and take a long time to stitch.
UFO is an UnFinished Object. Usually one that has been put aside and forgotten about for whatever reason.
Many people who start HAEDs end up with UFOs lol.
As for libraries I'm doing Frederick the Literate now and it's been great fun, it could also be easily adapted to remove the cat. There are some more serious library stitches in the other post referred to.
Most importantly have fun 8}
