Bit more done on the hummingbird.

And I'm working on an AAN friend that I will post in the next day or so, almost done and the next part of her Xmas SAL is up, so I'm working on that as well.

I guess I'm odd in that I don't mind the backstitch on this one. It's French knots that seem to do me in. I used to be able to do them, but they just don't seem to work well for me anymore.

I love the hummingbird.

The backstitching gives it a kind of completion (not sure if that is the word I mean exactly) or finish in a way. I usually don't mind either backstitching or french knots (unless there are a lot of them- I do them instead of beading which is my bane).

Carole, I agree with you on the backstitch. I thought it fiddly on this one at first, but it really seems to add something to it. I haven't had a lot of experience with beads, so far so good.

Thanks everybody! I haven't worked on the hummingbird anymore, but I really tried to bear down and get going on another challenge piece, the Tiger.

It's funny, when I picked it up for a few bucks at Walmart many years ago I thought it would be easy! There's a lot of confetti, it's only 5x7, but 19 colours seems like a lot! I've been doing a lot of filling in, but as you can see there's a lot to go!

The tiger is coming a long very well. even for such a small project it's still amazing how there can be may colours in them. The humming bird is looking cute.

I love the penguin and the tiger is coming along very nicely.

sometimes the smaller ones with a lot of colors seem like more work to me because I feel like I'm changing colors more often.

I've just caught up with your current projects. The humming bird is gorgeous. Love that outline penguin with its simple lines. The tiger is beautiful, but then I love tigers so I would say that

Nice updates on the Tiger and Humming-Bird.

Though there's not much of the Penguin there is something appealing and different about him.
