Grandson from photo - 7/2/11 update and help please

Barely started, but I'm thinking if I post progress it will keep me moving. Once I get started I know I will want to see how it looks. This is the first one I've done from creating the pattern from a photo. I am sure I will change a few colors as I go along. I printed a color pattern overall on one page, but then did black and white in larger prints so it does cover more pages. This is how the color pattern came out:

I'm going to take it with when we go to DisneyWorld next week. I think I might let the boys try and figure out which one of them is "first" on Gramma's stitch list!

That pattern looks pretty accurate for a photo! I am so jealous you're going to DisneyWorld.. Disneyworld is a sore subject for me.. Every time I've been promised to go to it the person never keeps their promise *snfl* So you have enjoy it twice as much for me

I will. My son is bringing his laptop so I might even check up on all of you. If I'm not totally and completely exhausted. The photo I posted is actually a photo of "how it is supposed to look stitched" which posted almost like an actual photo. Besides being fun to do, it feels really strange to only have a small piece of aida cloth to work on rather than a cumbersome afghan to maneuver. I keep thinking I must be missing something. I will post updates.

Here is an update on my grandson's picture. I am doing it a little differently than I usually do by pretty much sticking with one color at a time. At least while I am doing his hair as there are really a lot of different shades and I am afraid I will lose my place.

My son and DIL saw what it is supposed to look like, and were really excited about it, so I hope this turns out. Then I only have 8 more grandchildren (and my sister wants me to stitch my niece and nephew also) to do. and I'm itching to start my HAED and get back to my fairies as well. So less posting and more stitching for me.
