I was so pleased to see you have started a cancer cross stitch. I was diagnosed with cancer 2 years ago and the only thing I can do now is my cross stitching. I will keep a look out for this pattern so it can be something I read every day to give me strength

My mother was diagnosed with breast cancer when I was younger... I barely remember the two years before she got better, except for the stress and worry that everyone was feeling. I can't even imagine how she felt. This design is not only beautiful, but inspirational. :applesauce:

the pattern is in one of stoney creek magazines I think august 2007 but will double check this weekend, if you can get a copy of the magazine( I got mine from ebay) that way you can change fabric and colors if you wish... or raine got a kit, I think made my janlynn and changed everything anyway :)

I bought mine here: http://www.123stitch.com/cgi-perl/itemd ... =K080-0479" target="_blank

It would probably cost less if you can find the magazine, as cgirlish said. Don't know if you're in the US like I am.

This has been so inspirational for both of us. I'm almost finished and my husband asked that I put it in a tabletop frame and have it within his sight when he's sitting in his chair.

My thoughts and prayers are with you.

As are mine with you and your husband. I'm glad that he wants to put it somewhere positive too. I will have to wait until tuesday before I can order it as I dont get my benefits till then. Yes I am now one of those who doesnt work any more well till all the operations are done.
If you can find the pattern it would be a blessing
Thank you

Click on the blue "add to cart" button next to the picture of the magazine. Then click on the "check out" button and fill out the information they require like name, address, and payment info. At some point there will be a final place to click saying something like "place order" or something similar. Let me know if you have any problems and I'll go through it myself step by step as if I were ordering it myself and I'll tell you exactly what to click on.

Thank you so much. Managed to order it. I think I will do one for Macmillan Cancer Centre who helped me through my chemo and radiotherapy and one for Maggies Cancer Centre where my cousin donated his art collection which now has a gallery named after our family. It's only a wee thing but if it keeps you going and gives you strength that's enough
Kind regards

Yay! Your plans are wonderful and bring tears to my eyes. My husband wants to give a photo of mine to his cancer treatment center, but your ideas are way better.

I also did a few and gave them to my fellow patients so that they would know that someone appreciated them and thought of them. Sadly a few of them have passed on since then but I like to think that they had a smile when they saw them.
I also did a couple for the hospital staff when I was getting chemo and radiotherapy. They work so hard and have to put up with so much that I thought they deserved some recognition too.

I've finished the back stitch and I really enjoyed it. So, that's another thing I feel much more confident about. Now it's on to the beads. I'm pretty happy with it the way it is, but I'm curious to give beading a try because there are some gorgeous projects out there that have beading and I'd like to know what I'd be getting into if I attempted one.

I ordered a tabletop document frame that I think it will look good in and it's on it's way in the mail. It should be here by the middle of next week.
