Hi everybody I know it's been a while since I last updated but I usually use my blackberry to update and it's been a little slow recently. The picture below was actually the progress from quite a while ago now!



If you have seen what the original kit was like you would have seen the elephants are surrounded by little hearts, one of which are currently on my design.
Now I have a dilemma: should I leave the hearts off and just have the background blank or add the hearts to the design? OH says add hearts but I think it makes the elephants stand out more without

I am also wondering if I did the writing in the correct colour. I used the same colour as the backstitch from the red elephant which is a dark red but now I'm wondering if I should have done it black, not sure if the picture will do justice as it was taken on my blackberry so not good quality please let me know your thoughts
Btw the finished piece is being displayed in a black frame so this is why I am unsure on the hearts (making it too cluttered looking) and the red writing ....

It looks so cute. What a great gift. You could put a few of the hearts around it, maybe not all of them if you think it will clutter the background. The hearts seem like the result of the kiss, not taking away from the elephants. Does that make sense? The lettering looks fine to me. Hard to tell that it is dark red, not black, but I think it would still look good in a black frame.

Wow how lovely, maybe you could do some of the hearts in tent stitch so they dont stand out too much, im sure the writing will be fine the way it is, lokks good to me anyway

If you go to this glossary thread, keep scrolling down for a really good explanation that Mildred wrote about tent stitch. There is a link also somewhere to a tutorial, but I can't find it. It really is like a 1/2 cross stitch, but I think its supposed to be sturdier.
