I've always had a fondness for Blue Boy and Pinkie.
I'm stitching them on 36 count Edinborough because I want them to fit into these cool oval frames I found at Hobby Lobby:
The quarter stitches have been a challenge and I'm going to find a size 28 needle because 26 is just a little big and I think the back stitch will be easier with a smaller needle.
The linen is called sand and it's a beautiful gold. My camera isn't quite picking up the warmness of the colors. Here's the top of Pinkie's bonnet.

That is going to be lovely. The pink is already looking so pretty. And they will be beautiful in those frames. I am going to enjoy watching your progress.

I can't imagine stitching on 36 ct, but you're right, they will look fab in the frames you picked out. Cute project!
Where is Hobby Lobby based? I've never seen one here, in every hobby shop I've been to in California, the hobbies are limited to model airplanes, ships in bottles, rockets, radio controlled cars, etc! Not my type of hobbies!

Here's a search tool for Hobby Lobby. I hope there is one near you. They are fun stores to shop in!
Great start! I love those dark frames. My aunt did enormous needlepoints of those when she was laid up and they had dark frames like you chose, it adds a real touch to them.
Hobby Lobby is based in OKC (my town)...they have some great stuff. They could do better with stitchery patterns though. I go there as often as I dare!
I am fortunate to also have a local cross stitch store, Cross Stitch Haven!
