So, I had some time off and got the chance to do some stitching! I also got a couple of other projects to work on! Here is the latest on Sarah Harris:

Image

I am so glad to get some of those wild colours started in here! I just love the pinks of the new flower motif.

I also got some Christmas ornament charts to work on. I just completed the front of this Quaker ornament, which I downloaded for free from the Needleprint blog (http://www.needleprint.blogspot.com" target="_blank).

I used this opportunity to try some silks I had bought (overdyed silks from the Caron Waterlilies line). I liked the silks quite a lot and will probably use them on my next larger project, too!

Good progress on the sampler. It is really pretty. and the ornament is very pretty too. Will you be doing more of them? Now is the time to get started I guess. I am still recovering from last Christmas!

Very nice indeed! And beautiful neat work!

I'm so glad to see someone else who isn't bothered about the size or complexity of a work, just because they are a 'beginner'.

The Quaker ornament is lovely! Aren't Waterlilies silks gorgeous to work with :-)? (Gloriana is scrumptious too). Which shade did you use for this ornament?

Thanks, everyone! I am enjoying the sampler and it's nice to work on the ornaments, too. I think I will do a few of those!

Thanks, Mabel! The silks are really nice to work with. They are very soft to the touch and I have found they don't get so caught up. I have a couple of charts I am looking at which call for Gloriana silks, so I am sure I will get to those as well.

I think I used Midnight and Umbria for the ornament, but I can't be sure. I bought the colours on a whim to experiment and I didn't keep the packaging!

Well, I think I should post more photos of my progress! I have been working on my sampler, but I haven't been online all that much. Here are some photos of where I am at:

This is my progress as of mid-June:

This is how far I have gotten as of July 4:

And in this photo you can see my little black "x" at the bottom, which is the halfway point in the sampler!
