Oh dear indeed,
I am stitching an anniversary sampler for my mum & dads 40th, i got into a rhythm when dong the border so thought to myself i don't need the pattern - bad mistake. I picked up the sampler tonight to do the names and wondered why i had a lot of space either side, i had stitched two extra hearts on the border , i can't be bothered unpicking it as the hearts have blackwork in the middle and i'd have to unpick all the border, so i've just left it and it looks ok (well i think so). I'll just have to get a bigger mount and frame now

I'll bet it looks just fine. It is so easy when you are doing a repeating pattern to just get into the rhythm of it and not realize that you have done more than you were supposed to. At least you realized it and can just put it into a bigger frame. And this is certainly the best place to vent.

I think we've all done something similar. I'm glad you managed to notice it in time to make adjustments. I'm sure it will look fantastic

Been there done that too and as you say "just use a bigger frame". I am sure it will still looking wonderful.

All you've done is make it uniquely yours. In any case, thank heavens it was bigger, and not smaller... or else we would have needed a mega frog-fry at the Cafe!
