Verra nice Karen.. I recognize that first chart! I can wait on mine and we can do it together if you want. I haven't touched it since my last update- just the stitching on the N is finished. No gold border, no beads yet. I don't have any schedule for this one- if it's done for this Christmas.. or the next.. its for me.
LOL I figured you'd easily recognize the first chart Maggie--I totally fell in love with it when you started stitching it up. I'm not sure when I will get around to starting on that one--have a few lined up to stitch before I start on it, and have to decide on what fabric to use. Too much stitching stash and not enough time

I'm doing mine on 18 ct black aida
I think its charted for 14? I wanted a stiffer fabric because I don't think I will frame this. I was thinking I would use/ make a bell pull holder.

And I've been thinking about beads lately- I've never done much with beads before. Really only little bits that have come with kits before. But Noel, Cardinal Ball, and one of my next projects all have beads. For 18 ct.. is it best to use regular seed beads, or petite seed beads? I've looked around on the Mill Hill site and can't find anything there other than actual bead size.

Great idea to use it for a bell pull--I likely will do the same thing--not sure on the count yet, and not sure if I will use a dark navy blue or black and evenweave or aida--just depends on what I can find.
As for the bead question, I would likely use the petite beads for 18 count--I've used them on 32 count evenweave and had great luck with them.

Didn't arrive in the post, but got stash at Michael's today.

The remaining thread needed for my first HAED (minus 3 they didn't have); a bookmark (never made one, decided to get one to try), some ribbons for fobs or whatever; and a magnifier to be able to work on my HAED (can't afford the fancy ones at the moment); and a couple of metallics.

The hand-dyed threads that I ordered from Sew and So yesterday afternoon, after being pointed towards them by Xandra, came this morning. They're very lovely

Actually, I just needed a needle threader and the threads were to make up the order *cough*

Image

And just to prove that I did indeed buy a needlethreader. And, umm, it seems that I may have caved and popped in a chart that's been in my wishlist for a few weeks too

Image

I'm thinking that some of the threads might be useful for that particular chart. Just to justify the purchases, you understand...

Wow - everyone has been getting very pretty things in the mail (or at the store!).

Mine didn't come in the mail, it came from a localish (little less than an hour away) store that Panda took me to.

Image

The fabric is the first evenweave I have ever gotten. The cloudy is for Christmas cards - I got a cute pattern thrown in for free that is called "Snowmail" that I will do a bunch of if I have time. If not this year, next year!

The red is for an Ohio State logo.

The tan is for my brother's wedding gift - he just got engaged so I have some time. I have a cute pattern and the brown silk, the pink and the shiny are for that.

I also got the last thread I needed for my Starry Night w/ Tardis and the Snowmail.

And then I got the pink and silver for a TBD gift for my brother's fiancee.

Now I am not allowed to get anything else until I finished ALL these projects :-(

I got 2 Dimension Gold kits I got off of ebay today. One is an eagle one since DH loves eagles. I just liked the look of the Christmas one. We have several Dimension Gold christmas ones, so if I ever get them all done, they can make a village on the wall. :D

I've been trying to find something to store my Vikki Clayton Silk bobbins, but couldn't find anything to my liking. I've tried Dritz's bobbin box--I liked the individual compartments--unfortunately, Vikki's bobbins were slightly larger than regular bobbins and couldn't fit. Then I saw a gem stone collection organizer on Amazon and thought it might work so I ordered it. Received it yesterday--and I love it! It worked perfectly!

Each drawer has 50 plastic containers. The left is empty, the right with bobbins in it:

A perfect fit!

Now I need to find something to hold my Madeira floss... Anyone got any ideas? :P

I started off just exchanging a few emails with a friend on Saturday morning and before I knew it we were cybershopping. We spent an hour or so looking at charts and threads and I ended up buying these. The Sunflower one I was looking for, but the Wildflower one was an accident. I stumbled across it while I was looking for a larger picture of Sunflower and was instantly smitten

Image

The website we found it on had the speciality threads at a very good price so we thought it would be rude not to while we were there. I got the ones needed for both charts. I love Crescent Colours and Gentle Arts :)

Image

Unpacking that little lot kept me happy for ages :)
