Thanks for the picture, that helps a lot. It does seem like the colours are more brown than green, or is that just the photo? They do seem fairly similar, but there are colours you can pick that are a few shades lighter or darker depending on which colour you're replacing.

All is not necessarily lost with your current stitching, you could do one strand over what you've already stitching and do a blended colour instead of a single colour in some areas. Then your background would be 2 over instead of 1 over.

Is that helpful at all?

This might help for changing colours http://yarntree.com/075dmc.htm" target="_blank" target="_blank" target="_blank

the background colors do look more brown than green, but like tiffstitch said, that may be from the photo. If you want to make them greener, I think adding a green strand would help. I have done a lot of blended colors and they can really mute a background which is what I think you are wanting to do? Are you planning on 2 strands for the main tiger? or full x instead of tent stitches? Which would also make the tiger stand out from the background.
Does this help? or just confuse?

Tiffstitch - Actually I already switched to 2 strands. They are a greenish brown.

I'll check out that site, thanks.

I don't mind the colors per se, but they are too close in shade. The tiger will be full crosses in 2 strands, the background in half stitches. I tried 1 strand first then switched to two for the background.

I think rather than frog, I'll start over on another material and keep this one to do test stitches on to get all the colors right before I start this over.

I appreciate everyone opinions and glad that most of you like the background as it's supposed to look. I'll try to re-work the colors before making my final decision.

At least I have Pc Stitch Pro now to re-work the chart.

Note to self - Take a deep breath - forget about the two weeks already spent on this  - and get to crackin'.

We've all been there.. at least it's only 2 weeks. You figured out you weren't happy pretty quickly. I hope the new program helps as well. :)

Well I love the program overall. But as far as colors go, there is just no way to get the computer screen to display them as in real life. To make matters worse, some of my floss is so old that the colors have changed.

It's slow going, but I'm making progress on creating the new chart. I will close this SAL now and when it's ready, I'll start a new SAL.

I've renamed it Jungle Eyes - White Tiger. Then I can do more with other animals and make a whole line of Jungle Eyes charts.

Thanks for everyone's help!

Can't wait to see what you come up with since this design was so striking. Looking forward to the new SAL.
