Just got started but since this is 2nd in my new rotations, I decided I'd best start a SAL so that I keep moving along. This is a small HAED (100w x 88h) http://heavenandearthdesigns.com/index. ... ts_id=2168" target="_blank" target="_blank" target="_blank" target="_blank I am doing it on 18ct aida 2 over 1. It will be a little bit bigger than what they suggest on 25ct but still about 5" x 5". I hope it will still look good. I haven't done much and it feels strange after all the black on the 25ct for LOTR because this is pale and easier to work with. It is giving me a chance to use gridding so I get to practice that as whole.
I don't know how much I will do before I decide to move on to the fairy afghan. It's only 1 and 1/4 pages long, so doing a page at a time means I would just about finish it before moving on to another project. Probably work on it for a week or so and see how far I get.

A few photo updates of my progress. I got concerned at one point that the ink from my gridding wouldn't wash out, and since you could see it through the pale threads, I washed it out before I went much further and it was gone so I needed to regrid. Of course I had help:

I tried to resize the photos some to make them smaller, and it did some. I hope they arent' too big.
I have gone back to LOTR for a few columns. Not all black, but mostly. I will post that update in a few days.

Maybe when she tries to claw the fabric she thinks she is sewing too? I have had cats for years. They are usually interested, but she doesn't seem to think I can do this without her. She is almost always either on the table between me and the pattern or in my lap when I'm stitching. One day she is going to start posting on this forum and demand her own user id

I am trying to educate Mischief that my stitching is not out for his benefit. Jenny (my DD) hasn't done any stitching for some years so its all new to him - and he's no help at all at all.

Gotta love Laverne! Your project is looking great! It was probably a good idea to double check that the ink from the gridding was going to come off especially if you could see it through the stitching.. It must be a relief to know it does!
