Kestrel - FINISHED!

I have just been away for a weeks holiday in the UK and had a fantastic bird of prey experience day where I got to fly many of the birds. Whilst away I started this kit of a kestrel. I haven't taken a progress photo yet but i have done quite a bit. I will show you later. Now I'm off to catch up with what everyone has been up to

What a wonderful project, love kestrals, never stitched one but think that this one will have to go on my Â´must haveÂ´ list.

I don't think I've ever heard of Kestrel before.. looks like quite the predator

Kestrels are lovely birds. We also call them Sparrow Hawks. I think they are one of the smallest, if not the smallest falcons we have. We see them occasionally, but I haven't seen one in quite a while. Then again, I haven't been on any bird walks in a long time either. I can't wait to see your update on this one. Sounds like you had a great vacation.

what a very nice design! I love kestrels and wish that I saw them as often as I used to. We used to have at least one pair of these clever creatures in our area for a few years but haven't seen or heard them recently. I will be watching this WIP closely and may have to try and find a chart of this soon. I love it!!

Although I can't honestly say I have any particular interest in birds other than a normal appreciation for them as the lovely creatures they are among many lovely creatures, I'm really attracted to bird cross stitch pieces. I'm eagerly waiting to see the wonderful job you'll do with this one.

Hope you had a lovely holiday! He looks a handsome chap (I think he looks like a boy anyway!) - we see lots of kestrels where I live. I look forward to seeing this one progress - although knowing your stitching speed I expect he's almost finished!
