Yes!! I have finally finished!!! I am so happy with the outcome, just need to find a frame sometime soon. Here's the kingfishers complete with backstitching

Image
and here is a close of of the kingfisher in the middle of the design--loads and loads of backstitching--and even a few french knots, for the eyes and middle of most of the flowers! Well worth it though. Finished size is about 9 by 13 inches!

Thanks Carole--I really agree, the backstitching definitely makes it pop--though I must admit, I changed the colors in a lot of it--used darker green for most of the leaves and lighter orange/rust for the flowers--and even left a few small areas of backstitching out--I just didn't want it to be there :)

That's what makes stitching so much fun. I don't do near enough changing of things though I probably fiddle with backstitching more than anything and I don't mind doing it at all. What you did is really pretty.

That is amazing Karen and the back stitching certainly brings it to life even more. Love the colour changes too just giving it that slightly different look.
Well done and so quickly too
