What a shame the backstitching caused so many problems but the end result is certainly worth the stresses. It is beautiful.

Another small finish - this is the card I designed for my other half's birthday. It's of our two cats, Molly (on the right) and Imp (on the left), and our African Grey parrot, Ronnie:

Image

The photo hasn't come out brilliantly, so you can't really see their expressions well, but they are both eying the little mouse between them.

Molly kindly obliged me by posing next to herself (no chance of Impy sitting still, I have so many blurred photos of her!) - please excuse the mess!:

Molly is gorgeous and how lovely of her to pose beside her lovely replica on the card.
A great idea and I am sure that "your other half" really loved it.

Thanks everyone :D

Just so the others don't feel left out with the attention Molly's getting,

Here is Imp:
Image

you can't tell from the photo, but she has a white chest where Molly is cream, and she's about two thirds the size of Molly, other than that they are very similar; both torties, both with plenty of 'cattitude'

And here is Ronnie:

He was really pleased :D It's not a pet mouse, just a random one. I used to have ratties but they've all passed away, and what with the cats and a baby on the way it's best I resist the temptation to get more rodents, though I adore ratties!

Lovely stitching. I just watched the movie Miss Potter as someone here mentioned it. Loved it and went looking for stitching patterns. You did a fine job.
