Christmas Angel *UPDATED Aug 9 Page4*

Post by LastingAllure »

Well last December I got the Cross Stitch Collections magazine for Christmas and I had to start this Christmas Angel designed by Joan Elliott right away. This is what she is supposed to look like:

Image

At the start of August I had gotten this far on her:

Then I moved out of my dorms and into a one bedroom apartment with my mom, dad and sister while we waited a week to get our new house. I worked on her for maybe 2 days in total while there then we moved into our new house and I have spent three days straight stitching and this is how far I have gotten!:

Here are some closer up details:

I hope to have her finished by mid October so I have time to get her framed for Christmas time. She will be the first big project I have finished (I have so many UFOs it is insane, but it runs in my family! hehe). Once she is done I might finish my Midsummer's Night Dream Fairy by Miribilia.

Edit: Oh and all those empty spaces in the dress are all beads...confetti beads!! But I love working with the #4 very fine braid for subtle sparkles in the piece :) ...much easier than blending filaments which are a pain unfortunately :(

:applesauce: That is just beautiful and you are making great progress. It is amazing how you can almost feel the textures of the dress. When you get the beads in it will really sparkle.

And yeah that's something I like about some of her designs. I am not a fan of them all but there are some that really stand out. Another design of her's I plan on doing is the Water Goddess I have everything to do her now but I am fighting every part of me that wants to start her because I know I won't get this one done! :P

Yeah I know she is super pretty, thank you for the support :) . I plan on working on her tonight as I watch some movies that I have DVR'ed. But it is a fairly quick stitch since a lot of it is blocks of colour...it is just the matter of sitting down and doing it and not just sitting and admiring how far I have gotten on her! :)

Oh just to note I am working on 32 count linen in an off white (It was the only colour of fabric I had while at my grandparent's place and I wanted to start it right away). I saw this same pattern done on black though and wow it looked stunning

oh how lovely!

i just love christmas and christmas colors and angels. you've done beautifully.

and how cute to say you are young and can see in any light! it's so true!!! when i was younger i stitched or crocheted into the night and seemed to forget to turn on the lights. it's a different story now.

but it doesn't matter, as i love the work and really enjoy seeing yours. :applesauce:
