Yes. I am enjoying doing this now. Hard to believe how frustrated I was before. Anyway, here is the latest update before I return to Amulet & Emmaline for a bit. Since you all love her so much, here is Laverne assisting:

here is Laverne admiring her work:

and here is a closeup of the first 4 parts. I did the eyelot in variegated DMC 94 (I think) and I liked the effect. I will probably try a few more later on. It looks better in real life than in the photo. The French knots do need to be redone, but at a later date.

Thank you all so much. Without your encouragement I don't think I would have tried this again.

I love it Carole! Lovely green shades and lovely stitches! :applesauce: :applesauce: Some of my knots I had to take out like 3 times before I was happy with it, they can be quite annoying at times, huh? Yours look very rich and perfectly puffy.

Looking good Carole! I love Laverne - wish I could reach out and stroke her! I'm a huge cat lover but unfortuntely DH is VERY allergic to them so I live vicariously through other peoples' kitties!

i have some pale pink fabric in my stash and will probably just use that and decide the colours as i go. At the moment i'm thinking just have a go with stuff i've already got and if it works out ok then i might be tempted to do another with a bit more thought behind it.

It's looking fabulous! I'm also glad you're feeling better about evenweave... I don't stitch on anything but evenweave and linens anymore, and like others here on the forums, I really should write up some of the things I've found that I have learned that help make the process slick.

Love the 'helper' photos, too. :)

Thank you all. I really apprciate the encouragement. And Mabel, you many not believe this, but when you looked at the photo of the afghan fabric and said it was evenweave, I had to rethink what I was so afraid of, since I'd been using evenweave without knowing it. A real "writer's block" for stitching. Made a big difference when the Jobelan came. And I know I keep saying it, but after the TOS will be my Hardanger afghan challenge. Just gives me more time to ponder which of the designs I will pick. In the meantime, I'm having so much fun gathering stash for that afghan.

Here's the next two stitches. They were fun to do. I am trying to do a stitch a day. So I have now completed 6 parts. I think that leaves 10 more? I wasn't planning on sticking with greens but that is what it is looking like. I am using a lot of variegated thread. I have some silk that I got and a few more satins so might try those next. Also am thinking about some yellow. Opinions?? Anyway, Laverne was taking her beauty nap when I snapped this one. Actually, I'm not sure she likes this as much as the HAEDs. Go figure.

The greens look beautiful -- not sure about adding a yellow :thinks: :thinks: is it a very bright yellow or more a yellowy green?

I also have some variegated yellow but I think its too bright. Do you think yellowy greens would be okay? or just sticking with the different greens is better at this point? I have all the DMC's so there is plenty to choose from.
