Project: wedding

Post by pebbles »

After the resounding un-success of the Old Bridge (my previous SAL which is now on hold as the chart is in one of the fifty or so boxes I have in storage!) here is my newest SAL, to be started this weekend;

http://www.sewandso.co.uk/cgi-bin/find/ ... 48091&ww=1

My auntie is getting married on June 14th, which gives me exactly one month to get it stitched, framed and ready to be brought down to Bradford with me! Wish me luck....

Sorry about that, as soon as I posted it up I tried it just to make sure and realised I'd linked through the search page :oops: so I corrected it :)

Gorgeous isn't it? I have a feeling all the sepia tones might send me loopy though!

Thanks for all the replies :) I've shown it to a few of my friends now who have all wanted it doing for their various weddings over the next couple of years...what have I started? I'll be all sepia'd out soon!

Hi Pebbles it is great to see you back again. We have missed your dancing girl. :P

This one really looks like it should be a lot of fun. You can do it I know you can. Your Aunt will love it. The sepia may be a bit tricky but just count, count, count and you will be fine.

Here have a :choc: for Good luck

Wow! That is beautiful. Your aunt will be thrilled with it. As for the sepia shades, I agree with Rose, count, count and count again. Another good tip, is to have the best light possible and don't stitch when you're really tired, mr. :ribbit: is always waiting to party :lol:!

Just out of curiosity -- how many shades are there in it? Quite a few to create such a subtle effect, i would have thought; brave girl!

Add me to the crowds cheering you on. It's a very different sort of wedding design, and stunning.

Hiya and thanks for all your kind words :) I started stitching it on Saturday morning and I can't believe how quickly it's grown! I do have pics but I'm at work so can't upload them at the moment :(

Mabel, there are eight shades in total from white to a very dark brown, it's surprising how subtle the shading is! I was expecting there to be at least 15

So it's all good so far - ladies, I took your tips to heart and am counting everything at least four times! Don't want to mess up on this one!

I've just added a pic of my latest finish to my gallery, although the quality of the pic is pretty poor :( more to follow as soon as I can...
