HAED's new mini's

Post by destructiveernie »

Sorry to ask this here at not on the HAED BB but this feels more like home amongst friends and I just don't get that feeling over on HAED BB and it might be a stupid question.

Are the Mini's available for every chart? The way I'm reading it you can by any chart and pay an extra $10 to have the mini version instead.

Am I right?

As far as I understand it the minis are available on any full size chart. The person requesting the mini chart pays $10 plus the cost of the chart - thereafter once it is generated in mini format anyone can buy it for just the cost of the chart - $12.

Thank you Amanda that was what I thought it just didn't seem to make sense that you'd pay $10 extra for something smaller but I guess its the work to make them smaller.

Thank you Emma for asking the question and Amanda for answering. I also feel a lot more comfortable over here than on the BB at HAED. that one seems cumbersome to me (but all the other forums do). I keep thinking I just need to spend time there and eventually it will click. But yes, this is home.

A contradiction in terms :-)

I think it is a smaller and less detailed version of their large designs.

I've downloaded two and I'm pretty excited - I may just start one to see how it looks when I'm done with the page I'm working on of Faerie Bride. They aren't much bigger than the quick stitches, so they should go much faster! :)

I was wondering if there is a lot of confetti in the mini to get the detail or is the design "blurrier" than the full size. I suppose we will have to wait for some to be stitched up to get some comparisons. I'd love to order Deck The Halls as a mini when it's available.

I haven't done a HAED before so maybe this a stupid question, but couldn't you just get the full sized chart for $10 less and just stitch the area of the design you want on a higher count fabric? Or would the detail need sharpening up with more confetti on a mini?

I have battled with one of my projects and stopped it twice! i love the design but it was too big. I dont think the design itself will be popular therefore I have ordered it to be done as a mini. Originally I was going to have background removed but I prefer the idea of the full chart just in a smaller size. It was the first chart I had brought and I did get a shock when the chart was over 30 pages.

It was a debate to whether it was worth spending the extra money to get it produced smaller then buy the chart all over again but if i can achieve the end result on this it will be worth it!

Will wait patiently to see the chart appear!

Looking forward to seeing which one you have chosen! I'm interested in the mini's as well, as a new stitcher I don't know if I have the perseverance to complete a full size HAED!
