Your apron design looks so good Mauveme :applesauce: I can appreciate your frustration with the fabric. I stitched my Rose Fairy design on very soft 14ct aida that I purchased at stitching show a few years ago. At the time I thought it was just a different kind of aida, but I have never come across it again. It was hard to keep it from going out of shape, and I stitched quite a bit more slowly because the fabric had to be under less tension, but, like you, I got there in the end :)

Great work. The backstitch is really bringing it to life :applesauce: :applesauce:

Isn't it just? It must be particularly difficult on such limp fabric. :tea: :cake:

Oh my word, that fabric just gets worse. It is not the same size as the white aida I used to back the stitching. (about 1/2 inch smaller-probably shrunkin the dying process) I have it hanging on a wall to dry after I soaked it, ironed it, and tried to stretch the top. So far so good. Hopefully it will dry OK and without puckers.

:applesauce: It looks great to me. You did a great job. I can't tell that the fabric has shrunk. I think it is very well done. :applesauce:

Thankyou, I think my brother will get a kick out of it. I added the bit on the bottom, I know he will think that is fun.

Fabulous! Yes, I agree completely about too limp/too firm a fabric being a nightmare - newly appreciative now of all the times that doesn't happen of course...hope he likes this - I'm sure he will - it's very cool and wonderful to have a personalised and thoughtful present.

Well all is well. The soaking helped to stretch the fabric and the stiffness of the white is keeping it in place.
