Kreinik #4 & 8...what's the difference?
I have a pattern that calls for #4 braid to be used for gold stars. But I only have #8 on hand. What's the difference between the 2, and would it be ok to substitute what I have for what's on the pattern?

#4 is Very Fine Braid, #8 is Fine Braid. It's thicker, but I'm not sure how much. You could try a few sample stitches to see if it works, and if it does there's no reason why you shouldn't use it!

Thank you! I thought it has something to do with that, but didn't know if what I had was the thicker or the thinned of the 2.
