HAED 2012 Freebie SAL signup now in progress

Those of you active on the HAED BB probably know this and have signed up, but thought I would remind any others interested. I think I signed up. I messed up my first email so had to send a second one with a postscript so I hope I get to do this. I chose the QS Bookend Kitties
it was a tie between that and the Teddy Bears and the Tiger, but if I can meet the requirements for posting then my understanding is that you get all the charts? I would be interested in hearing who else had signed up and which charts you chose. I know that several of you have done this before and would also like to know how you liked doing it. The only SAL I have done was the TOS and that was fun.

I've signed up - I've chosen QS Bookend Kitties too (though the Forbidden Doorway SK was close with that gorgeous purple dress!)

Carole - you'll know if everything has gone through OK if Rachel has listed your name in her first post in the Freebie SAL thread, I think she is updating it daily. You are right - if you post the required amount of WIPs in the right Freebie SAL thread by the date required then you will get all the charts in the SAL. Its my first HAED SAL so I am quite excited - not that I don't have enough stitching to do already of course.......!

It's going to be great to see these start. Sadly, I won't get to join in, I missed out on the sign up bit yet again--oh well, I guess I wasn't meant to be.
I do hope you all have a fabulous time and it's really neat that they will allow all charts to be had if you post enough

I'll give it a couple of days and then if it doesn't show up I will try it again. Karen, if you sign up as soon as the BB opens up again, then I guess you could be eligible for the next one. In the meantime you are doing TGE and are you doing a Chatelaine SAL also? The thing about those is all those d_____ beads. Not that I need to start anything new. think I will hopefully stick with this one and Abi's next (maybe). Ought to keep me out of trouble (unfortunately ) for a good long while.

Carole, I'm aiming to try and do that--I'd been signed up a year ago, and didn't like the ones that they had offered that go, then I got sick just before the last one and totally missed out and this time I just had forgotten to check--I guess I need to keep better track of that forum now. I'm just doing the Great Escape--I don't have the motivation to do the Chatelaine SAL. That being said, I have plenty here to keep me stitching--I may just get going on one of the freebies that skitzzzzz sent me in the near future.

My cousin, who is an avid stitcher too, told me about this, but alas, my application for membership at the HAED BBs was declined. I've been told I can re-apply after December 1st, which I understand is the closing date for the SAL. So no, sadly I won't be taking part, but I'll happily sit here and cheer you all on if you post your updates here as well as over at HAED (if that's allowed ) I'll certainly be up for the next one though Good luck to all who are doing it!

Thank you for letting me know! I sometimes forget to check the BB boards on a daily basis (or my yahoo groups for the matter) as I do here but I just signed up for this! I had a hard time choosing between the QS Lovers and the SK Forbidden Doorway but I ended up going with the QS Lovers, and hopefully I'll be eligible to get the other charts at the end of next year.

The full size of Lovers is something I had looked at and I know my best friend loved it too so it was a good choice for me, and it could even be a nice gift for her when it's done.

I've decided I'm not going to sign up for the SAL this time. Besides my 4 HAED WIPs, I've got a lot of other stitching planned for 2012 and likely would not complete the piece by December 1, 2012 to be in the drawing for a free chart. I would be able to meet the requirement to post progress pictures in each of six different months for the QS (four for SK) to get all six charts, but do I want to devote the time and materials expense for this? I realize that the charts offered are for this SAL only and will not be sold or released to anyone not participating. However, if I were to choose charts to purchase, it would not be any of these unless I were to do Bookend Kitties for my daughter who loves cats. I like the full version of Forbidden Door, but the way it was cropped for the SK eliminates most of the Red Dragon.

For those who are interested in the charts offered, it is a very good deal. It's also the only HAED Freebie SAL that will be offered in 2012, so if you wish to participate, this is your only chance. Good luck to those who join, and I'll watch the boards for your progress.

I even have the perfect sized piece of 18 ct Aida for it, so I just need to buy whatever colors I don't have and will be ready to start right away next year.

So you are part of the bb board then?, if so the sign up for 2012 is still going till 1st december, so you still have time to sign up.

I really wanted siberian forest, but my son went mad when he saw the teddy bears one, and since i had got siberian forest as a rak just the day before the sal pics were released, i decided to do the teddy bear one for him.
