Wildflower - FINISHED 30th DEC

Post by Carole »

I'm doing another stitch along with my friend 'cause obviously I didn't have enough WIPs already
This is the design we're doing.

Image

I really couldn't resist buying the chart when I spotted it at The Patchwork Rabbit while I was looking for something completely different. Can we say impulse buy? It was easy enough to talk my friend into getting it too. She's as bad as I am. We got the buttons for it there too and I can't wait to stitch them on as they're really sweet. I'm stitching it on 28 ct. Britney in Pearl grey. I haven't used Britney before and I quite like the feel of it. I'm using the recommended threads which are Gentle Art.

Usually I like to start in the top left or the centre of a project but this one didn't want to be started in either of those places. I thought it might be fun to do all of the stem first and then work around that so that's what I've done so far.

Image

I love the way the green changes colour. Now I just need to decide where to stitch next. Some yellow perhaps?
Thanks for looking :)

:applesauce: you've made really good progress to get started. Is that a variegated green for the stem or lots of different shades. I love the way it looks. This one is going to be fun to do. I am looking forward to your updates. And how great that you have a friend to stitch this with.

It's a variegated. It runs from almost black to so pale that it's almost white so lots of variegation.
It tangles if you blink at it though. Mostly at the back where I can't see it so I've developed a nervous twitch in the hand that sits at the back of the work, as I keep feeling the need to run my finger along to check for lumps

I love the way variegated threads look. I've only used the DMC ones so far in my TOS which is one reason I want to do 3 more (then I would have all the seasons). I really love the way your stem looks. I am looking forward to more updates (even if they don't use variegateds)
