I am just finishing a small piece for a friend who is shortly going to have a baby. It will have the baby's name and birth date on it, but I'm not sure how to present it and I would really appreciate any suggestions.
I don't want to frame it as I know she already has two WTP pieces of framed cross stitch for the nursery and another piece maybe overkill. I did think about making it into a card but it is too big - it is about 15" long.
Any thoughts

Or it could be a (bit unusual form of) name plate for the door.

I agree with a bell pull, its just calling out to be a bell pull. I also like Agi's idea of a name plate to. Will look great as either one, let us no what u decide though, plz.
You just measure upwards from the bottom, starting at, say 45cm, then backstitch in the heights at the appropriate intervals; I like them but unfortunately have no call for them as my stepsons are both past the 'cute height chart' stage
But the bell pull idea is lovely for this - it may be a bit short for a height chart.
