I've joined as well - I'm going to do the Teddy Bears. I also liked Bookend Kitties (the full version has been on my wishlist for a while) but I know that I'll post the required no. of progress pics so that I'll get the other charts, and I'm more likely to then stitch the kitty later than the teddy bears.

Now if only I could get motivated and stitch the last 400 stitches on Curl Up (from the 2011 SAL).

Thanks for that! :) Don't know how I missed that - LOL!

I love the Blue Moon storykeep, but I know fine well I won't have time to do it, as I'll still be stitching the wedding invitations commission till April and then I have a sampler commission immeidately after that. :( Anyway, I'll enjoy watching everyone else's progress. :)

I know they are great on detail, but about 100 colours for such relatively small designs does seem a little excessive...
If there are colours that are only used for 2 or 3 stitches (which I believe does happen in HAEDs) perhaps you can use another shade that is very close to it?

Bookend Kitties has 74 colours - so average in comparison!

Or just use whatever thread is next to it that you have in your needle.........(prepares to be flamed by HAED purists!). When I started QS Believe I was missing a thread that only required 6 stitches - I just looked at the chart and used the colours around those stitches instead - no one will know unless you tell........ Just out of interest in Bookend Kitties there are 10 thread colours that require only 10 stitches or fewer (or less depending on your grammar :) ) in that colour.

I've just checked and 16 of those colours have less than 50 stitches!!!!!

I think this will be one that I just do from my stash, same with the fabric, and see where that gets me and take it from there.

I think its going to be my lunchtime at work project.

Amanda, my Bookend Kitties (just got too) says the chart containes 88 colors. How could we have different charts? or did you count? There is one thread color which requires 2 stitches and one which requires 3 and three that require 1. that was just in a quick peek. Going to do this from my stash, and replace as necessary. That is kind of standard for me anyway. I need to decide what fabric I will use. I'm thinking either a 22 ct Hardanger or my cat afghan that already has Amulet and Emmaline. Little kittie would look cute in a bottom corner. What are ya'll considering?

It does seem a bit daunting to fit in so many colours in a small square but I am going to go with my tiger and see how I do? I love Haed's what can I say?

Yep, if you count them it counts up to 74. I wonder why the first page with the picture says 88 colors. If I had gone and bought the colors I would have been sure I missed some when the cash register showed 74. At least we got the same email. I wonder what Rachel will say about this one. I will have to check the BB later to see if anyone commented there. I've been around there a little bit more lately, trying to get used to the place before the SAL starts.

QS Lovers says it's 96 colors, which is the same as the Van Gogh, that is pure confetti. I was stunned as well! I see a few that only have 1-3 stitches, so I'll probably be skipping over them if not on their faces, and replace if I can if it is.

Yup I get 74 too....I thought I may have what I needed for this in my stash and I have.....nearly....I'm five colours short and sods law states that the colours I'm short of actually have quite a few stitches in the chart  Ohhh dear....looks like I've gotta go stash shopping....and of course it's no good just buying five skeins.....because I don't have an LNS I shop online and it's much better value the more skeins you buy  :D
