I just counted all my colours too and I think there were 85, not 99. And I went through my stash and I think I'm only missing 10 colours. I'll see what ones I actually need and what I can maybe fudge. One of the colours only has 1 stitch! And that's one I have of course. :D

Re number of threads differing to the number on the cover I emailed Rachel - there was no way she was going to count up all the colours for each chart so the numbers on the cover was prob a guestimate - the colours that are listed are all the ones you need!

Thank you for checking with her. Now I have to make sure, but I'm pretty sure I have all the DMC's. they are just in different plastic bins depending on which project is using them at the moment. I ended up setting up a spreadsheet just to keep track of which chart had which bobbin. I hate having 3 or more bobbins of the same color, so I end up moving them around.
Not as bad as it sounds, but my OCD takes over with my cross stitching. Its a shame it won't take over for my housecleaning.

I'm missing 35 colors, but I guess that's ok since I am trying to find excuses to complete my DMC set.

I have signed up for the tiger design - picked by my other half (and I still haven't finished the maia Siberian Tiger that I've been stitching for him for the last mumble mumble years  ).

Also loved the bookend kitty and the teddy tree (good nursery pictures I thought), so that's my incentive for posting the required number of updates!

Not checked my stash yet, but I will be substituting for any colours that only require a couple of stitches unless I have that colour.

And I'm on maternity leave now, so maybe I'll have a chance to get my number of WIP's down before baby turns up and the SAL starts! (who knows how much stitching time I'll have after  )

Doing bookend kittie too, was going to try and use anchor threads as i have no dmc, but turn out i only have about 13 colours i can use, also was getting a bit confusing when it was converted to 4 options of anchor for 1 dmc :? .

Looks like ill have to start collecting dmc....oh well!!! :D

Carole. You make me laugh; 'I ended up setting up a spreadsheet just to keep track of which chart had which bobbin. I hate having 3 or more bobbins of the same color, so I end up moving them around.
Not as bad as it sounds, but my OCD takes over with my cross stitching. Its a shame it won't take over for my housecleaning.'

I'm just the same, I think along exactly the same lines. I'm really bothered about what project is using what colour and how much of each I've got (if at all) and have set up a spreadsheet to keep track of floss, charts, fabric, what chart is in what magazine etc. etc., but you should see the dust!!!!!
