Hello everyone! I took a break from doing my current WIPs and decided on this series of cute ladies (free designs from http://www.cross-stitching.com" target="_blank). This is the 1st one out of three. I also gave the "crayon tinting" a try!

Very nice, I really like the crayon tinting effect. I'd like to give it a try on my next small project (don't think I'd have the nerve to try it on anything larger though).

That really is cute. How did you like the color tinmting as far as working withit on the cloth? Did it seem to make any difference in how the thread moved through the material? Did the color seem to rub off on your had at all? It would be great to have first hand info on this.

The first one is finished! I had fun with the crayon tinting (i used the simple crayola brand). I followed what was adviced in this forum (click on the link as posted earlier by threadbear ) I just added a step before ironing it out - I smudged the tinting with a cotton ball. It softened the shades and removed the excess wax. There's no difference as far as how the thread moved through the material and since I rubbed it with cotton the color will not be rubbed off by your hand as you stitch and will not affect the thread.
You're right SusanF ...it's good to try it first on small projects...Like you, I don't think I can do it this easy with large ones...might give it a try someday...
Happy stitching!

What I do is I have two projects on the go, my big one which I do at work and a small one for at home. So I work my big one four days a week and my little ones whenever I feel like it at home. That way I don't get bored of either. Perhaps doing something similar would help you not get bored.
