rcperryls wrote:Thank you Jo. I think I will have to go fabric exploring. on line. and an oatmeal aida sounds interesting. I really have done so little in aida that it would be an interesting change. Is rustic aida different from regular? or is that a color? I have a lot to learn about fabrics. I know we have a thread that I need to reread about that.

http://www.sewandso.co.uk/ran2852-0.html" target="_blank" target="_blank is an example of rustic aida. You can get it in different counts, but I think Lizzie Kate recommends 28 count linen over 2 which would equate to 14 count aida.
Hope that helps

Niki, I didn't mean to threadjack your thread. It is such a bad habit of mine, but I have been so intrigued by this design. I just love it and hope you don't mind that I got into the fabric discussion. I love how yours looks on the linen but am wary of trying linen again, though if I thought I could get it to look as lovely as yours is, I might try. Otherwise, Jo's suggestion is a good one. Thank you.

That is a gorgeous one and all of it is true too, especially as we get older. I find it a great liberty in many ways being in my 70's now and not worrying too much about other people's opinions etc. I try to enjoy life more now too.

Its a great one to do for your mum and I am sure she will take it to heart. Your progress is amazing but please don't do yourself an injury Niki.

Yesterdays progress, not bad considering I had to sleep in the pm, and had both brother and BIL in the evening. Now back on my own. Wrist is doing well.

Hijack all you like, it's what makes threads evolve and live! I'm doing my Kauto and Denman on rustico aida, it's certainly the best looking aida (IMO) but not the easiest in 18 ct as the holes are harder to see. Pointless using it for w full coverage project but I thought it might be easier on the eye than White, which it is, but harder to stitch on.

My mums b'day was on the 11th but she's off skiing for a week, which is why I'm on my own. They'll be back on Sunday!

I'm thinking I'll put it on some mount board with some wadding under it, and then im going to sew a cool rustic ribbon around the edge and fasten it with buttons every now and again. That's the plan anyway! You know how these things are subject to change!

I'm not going to finish today, but should tomorrow!! I did just print out a new chart from Skitzzz though so am looking at that lovingly right now!!

Great stitching! :applesauce: And I'm glad to hear your wrist is doing well. That's so funny about your new chart from skitzzzz. I'm debating about starting a new one from her design or working on my WIP by her tonight.
