On my charts that I looked at, the regular format has 80 spaces across the page, the large has 65. I've found the large format easier to read. I've also had mine mailed - it saves ink & paper by not using my printer and I don't have to worry about download fiascos!

The Prairie Schooler annual Santa's 1984-2012
I always get mine via PDF (instant gratification!) in regular format - that way I can enlarge it to whatever size I like and have as few rows/columns per printed page as suits me, so negates the reason for buying the large format IMHO.

Now I know why you have it mailed. I just bought the pattern in the large format, and it's 58 pages! Wowzers! Thankfully I'm able to print it out at work.
Now, to get fabric and figure out how to grid it.

I haven't had any trouble with the regular size either and haven't needed to enlarge them. Plus it is less daunting to me to face fewer pages even if it takes a little longer to complete one. I think its partly a mind game for me. Plus, I like knowing that I have the chart on my hard drive, external back up drive and on line back up. That way I can't lose it or misplace a page (which is not an impossible thing for me to do)

I have two downloaded and two printed HAEDs. So far working on the ones I got in PDF. Regular format, I just print out page size, and don't find it smaller than what charts in magazines or kits usually are, so I'm good with it.
I like the printed patterns too, but of course, when I get to those I'll make copies of the page I'm working on, so I can highlight the parts already done.

Good to know. The next one I think I'll get in the regular size.
I like to highlight or mark off the stitches I've done too. I was going to try to grid, but with 28 ct fabric, it just didn't seem feasible.
