I got my new fabric from crafty kitten on thursday and just had to start my newest cross stitch design straight away ( RAK'ed by a special anonymous person)
This is my progress so far (since 8.55pm on thursday night) - 5396 stitches so far.
week 2 update - 12,562 stitches in. shark can now be seen.
Week 3 update (23rd feb) - 16334 stitches done.
This is done n 28 count "opal sunlit water" brittney fabric. 2 over 1 tent stitch

That is a lovely start. I looked up the chart on the HAED website and it is beautiful. I can't wait for more updates on this one. I love the fabric you are using also.

Enjoy! I cannot wait to see your progress on this, I was considering doing this one eventually too. I like the sparkly fabric you chose... my only hesitation with this pattern is that there's no background so an interesting fabric is needed (I think so, anyway).

that is why i didn't buy it straight away as well heather - no background. and was waiting to see if the other version (with shells/sand background) came out.Then i got this as a RAK, so i spent the extra getting this fabric, it is lovely with some blue/lilac tones along with some aqua colours and the sparkles set it off lovely, was not expecting it as sparkly (as i never used opalescent before) and any others i saw didn't seem to shin as much as this does

I didn't know there was another version of it.... maybe I will wait and see if that comes out as well The fabric is gorgeous, though. Have fun!

Edited to add... I emailed both the artist and HAED about it, the artist said it's theirs if they want it but HAED said it's about 75$ to license and image so it's on hold for now. The artist said he'd also be interested in seeing it finished so when you are done you should send him a picture! I bet he would love it... I've noticed that many HAED designs I love are his work.
