Hi
That looks great, never heard of crayon tinting before, but it looks like it worked a treat!

Re: Taking a break....
I really like how this has turned out. Thanks for showing us a new technique in action.
Re: Taking a break....
This is really very good. Both the technique and the stitching. I like this little picture, was thinking of doing it myself as a self-portrait, but first I should start exercising.
It reminds me of a painter whose pictures I saw in Plymouth, I think she is very good. Do you know Beryl Cook?

I wonder if they have made her pictures into stitching patterns yet?

Oh my goodness, it says she has just died today. How sad, her pictures are very fun.

Oh, I am so sorry. I didn't even read - just found the site and posted it. She was a great artist, I believe, full of energy and humour.
Edit: No, it wasn't there when I visited earlier, I remember the pictures were different, and I would have noticed the text... They must have posted it very recently.

Sad news about Beryl Cook!
Great work piece of work though - that crayon tinting looks so effective! Didn't know you could do things like that!
Also love the way you have set your work out to take the picture - looks so lovely!!!
Well done mate x

Re: Taking a break....
They spoke about her death on the radio station news I am listening to, how strange that it has all come together at the same time.

This is going to make a really lovely little set - what are you planning to do with them?

Re: Taking a break....
I'll put it in my mini projects album, Susan. It's a clear book folder with plastic inserts...it's where I put my finished mini xstitch projects.
It's similar to scrapbooking. I can't add any more picture frames in the house since I have a lot already. Some of the mini ones - I made into cards that I give away to friends. These cute ladies will have to go in the album...

Re: Taking a break....
They're adorable! What a cute set and I think the crayon tinting really adds to them. I'm glad to see you tried that technique...I'd never heard of it before, but it really enhances them, don't you think? Can't wait to see the rest!

What a great idea, putting your smaller pictures in an album!

Those are really cute and the crayon coloring really sets them off.
