Great forum!

Post by vixky99chapman »

Hi,

My name is Vicky and I joined the forum today. Ive had a quick look through, and have found some great tips and advice after just half an hour!

I learnt to stitch about 15 years ago when I was about 10, but stopped until last year when I got the inspriration to start again! I absolutley love it... Especially when I see the finished product.

I am struggeling with ideas of what to do with my finished projects so if you have some creative ideas to share, it would be fantastic.

I am currently living in Italy teaching English. My current project is to go in a frame for the kids at the hosiptal. A pile of cute teddies sleeping in bed holding a get well soon card. Ill post a picture when im finished.

Looking forward to hearing from everyone and sharing ideas!!!

Hello, Vicky, and welcome to the forum. Glad you like it here - we do too. It's a wonderful place with wonderful people.

If you look through Tips and tricks I am sure you will find some good ideas about finishing, and also in the galleries. And I seem to remember a very good link, but don't know where it was, maybe someone will know...

Please, set up your own gallery and show us your work.

Welcome Vicky, I hope you'll enjoy your visits here!

We've got quite a few teachers or ex-teachers here -- I used to teach English in my native Netherlands, and we've got Agi who'se a teacher and threadbear who home-schools (brave girl!).

Any questions you have about stitching just ask -- we love questions and between us we usually come up with an answer :-). We're a friendly lot so just dive in and join the fun!

Yes, a proper welcome to you. Hopefully, you'll just jump in. It gets a bit chaotic from time to time, but we are (mostly) harmless. :thinks:

Welcome from sunny California :sun: . This is a wonderful place filled to the brim with happy stitching people :D (just take a look at our pics in the Nice to Meet You thread). No one bites or nibbles (except for chocolate and cake) and we never poke (except for :ribbit: ) so settle in and make yourself at home.

Hello and Welcome.....sorry I was the meany of the forum this morning. I don't like to be but we have to be so careful about copyright and in away as a moderator it is my job.

I really hope we can be friends anyway. We do like newbies.

Hi Vicky and welcome from sunny Dorset. Your project sounds lovely but please don't don't keep us all in suspense...post your progress pics on the Stitch-A-Long section. You will get a lot of encouragement from the girls on here. Once again welcome and hope you enjoy the site.
