You certainly pulled off the balcony addition! Looks wonderful!

And here's hoping for Disney to jump on the opportunity to have an unique piece of work! :x:

The balcony extension is fantastic :applesauce: :applesauce: and:x: that Disney respond.

Re GOSH.. they were very slow to respond to a letter and some money our elder boy raised by doing a little concert on his keyboard when he was eight in 1989,but he did eventually receive a letter thanking him for raising the money..I think it was £12 he sent,it was months though rather than weeks before an acknowledgement came. It may be volume of requests, I hope so, because this is an amazing project.

Brilliant! Love how the balcony ties in with the Monsters Inc. section.

Disney have replied.....

"Disneyland® Paris,
22 February, 2012

Reference: 402210/920171

Dear Mr Cameron,

Thank you for your correspondence concerning your cross stitch project with Disney characters.

I was so happy to learn that you have been inspired by the Disney characters and have integrated them in your hobby of cross stitch. I had an opportunity to visit the forum you mention in your email and I found your work fantastic. You have managed to perfectly capture the characters in your craft. Nevertheless, I regret that due to the large volume of such requests we receive, Disneyland® Paris is unable to display your cross stitch at the resort. Disneyland® Paris must respect the harmony of the decoration at resort and as such cannot display such pieces. I hope you can understand our position in this matter.

I nevertheless hope you will continue with your piece as I am certain the final result will be magical.

Please be assured that Disneyland® Paris appreciates the time you have taken to contact us.

Yours sincerely,

Shawn Johnson

yes it was a long shot, but what a wonderful reply you have gotten and how great that he or she (Shawn can be either, right?) came to the forum and looked at it and explained their reason. This just means that your wonderful project is meant for somewhere else. There are many children's hospitals and it may just be a question of finding the right home. In the meantime you have more to do. I am eager to see what is next.

I'm doing more to it don't worry. I haven't given up on doing this project or finding a home for it!

Feel a bit sad about it though but I understand there reasons.
On the plus side this project now has an OFFICAL DISNEY APPROVAL stamp :-)

Fabulous progress Paul. The balcony looks great :applesauce: I knew you'd be able to sort it out.

Regarding a home for the finished work of art (for that is what it is) have you tried Birmingham Children's Hospital? If it ended up there I'd take my children in especially to see it.

I agree that Disney taking it was a long shot, but it sure is nice that they actually took time to reply to you. I am positive you'll find a children's hospital, or orphanage that would be delighted with your work, and that they'd love to have it to bring smiles to children who really need it.

I'm sorry your gorgeous work won't be hanging at Disney, and even sorrier that Gt Ormond St haven't even replied to you! Is there another local children's hospital or ward near to you that might appreciate it? Or a special school - tha would be a lovely home for it, I think. :)

I think Kell and others have a great idea to look around at diffent hospitals that take care of children, such a warm and happy stitch would do wonders for childrens spirits. I know over here there is St Jude's that is for children especially. Keep sending out request there is sure to be a place for your lovely project.

I think the reply from Disney was very nice. Kudoes to them for a reply and I would say in a very timely manner.
