I wasn't going to post anything this soon, but I have already had to wash and regrid this one time since a feline (not sure which one but I have my suspicions because one is more prone to throwing up than the other and that one's name begins with an L) threw up on my stitching when I wasn't looking. This is a first. So I had to wash it, which took care of the gridding and dry it and then rewash it because it is a little bit stained. I don't think you can tell and most of it will be covered up by stitches and then a frame eventually. And if it isn't it was caused by a tabby so it is appropriate.
This is what it should look like:
This is the positive help I received 2 days ago (at least I thought it was positive)
and this is what it looks like after a few days of stitching and some washing and the beginning of gridding again:
1 over 1 on 22 ct Hardanger. I think the coverage is going to be fine as long as I don't pull the stitches too tightly. I'm going to work on this for a while now, being careful where I put it when I leave. OMG I think it is still on the table.

Sorry to hear you have had to wash this one after your poorly cat. I'm sure no-one would know if you didn't say. You have made a good start and I hope your cat is feeling better.

she is fine. I should have known better as it is a chronic problem since she was a kitten. Eats too fast because she is trying to get her share before Shirley (the feline vacuum cleaner) eats it all. So it is my fault in a way too.

Looking great Carole - glad to hear that Laverne is ok. What you said reminded me of DH - I've never seen anyone eat so fast but he puts it down to having 4 brothers and sisters and if he didn't eat fast enough someone else would pinch it off his plate!
Really looking forward to watching all your HAEDs grow. I'm busy in the planning stages of some new starts, just trying to decide on fabby count and whether to tent or not........ Really excited about all the new charts that everyone has bought and hopefully seeing a few new SAL along the way!

Er, did you know you've got five HAEDs on the go?
yes. plus skitzzzzz's heart and 2 HAEDs I want to start and a LK I want to start and a few others. But, I'm going to hold off on any new HAED starts for a little while and not start a non HAED until I finish skitzzzz's Heart. Then we will see what happens. I have the fabric for Spangler's O Kitten Tree, and some odd Aida and Hardanger around. Plenty to think about anyway.
What are you going to do with all the new and exciting charts you just bought?

Hooray for a start on these 2 gorgeous felines! Sorry Laverne gets her tummy upset occasionally. Alice will too, so I understand. We have to water her food down at every meal or she doesn't react well. Even then she'll still have issues no matter what we do.
That's a beautiful design - I have a little grandson who would love it!
Pity about the puss-cat vomit - you did make sure to wash really well and rinse and rinse and rinse, yes? All that stomach acid is likely to play havoc with the fibers, given time.

I hope I did. I washed and washed it out the first time and then the second time with antibacterial hand soap and then rinsed and rinsed and put it in the dryer. I think it is all out. I caught it pretty quickly too, I think. I hope so since I have regridded it and don't want to have to wash it all out again.

Congrats on your start Carole and Laverne (Well Laverne doesn't really deserve the applause for her 'initial contribution' but I just couldn't leave her out! )
I love the pics, the distance shot really shows how the detail just pops as you back away from the design, you can see the shading of the fur really clearly already
Can't wait to see more of this one as I'm a cat lover too

I'm still at the drooling over them stage at the moment !!
First I have to finish Gazebo and then there's a model which I want to get out of the way, then there's Sistine Chapel (obviously!!!), then my LNS is ordering L*K 'A Good Marriage' which I'm going to do for my brother's wedding in August, plus I bought a John Clayton cricket chart for my dad's birthday, also in August, plus my 2 girls want a Christmas stocking each, then there's my future sister in law's 40th birthday in February 2013 (no prizes for guessing what I'm doing for her - you just did the same one!), plus, having seen the Music Lesson chart it looks just beautiful, and there's Rhyme and Reason and Trio yelling at me........................... (no need for sleep, housework etc. etc. is there? )You get the picture!!!
Re-gridding after stitches are in is a pain, so I feel for you.
I have a kitty who's prone to vomiting all over the place as well, and he tends to choose the place where it can either a) be toughest to take out, like an inch away from the tile floor, but on the carpet instead or b) in such a way the most area is covered by it, as in at the edge of the sofa, and then it drips down over pillows and onto the carpet. So I feel for you on that as well. Hmmm, I should start putting my stitching away at night, inside it's box.

mine especially likes the fringe on the rug so that it is 1/2 on the floor (easy to clean) and half on the fringe. yuck.
and I am putting mine in the drawer every time I walk into this room to check the computer, or the bathroom or the bedroom or anywhere that my project isn't with me.

Whew! That's an heirloom if ever I saw one - so glad you got rid of all the nasty stuff!
