I have lost my hat - just as winter has finally kicked in, and strongly, too. So I had to make one fast. Looked around my stash on Wednesday, found this variegated thread and crocheted, then knitted, then crocheted and then knitted and crocheted. And this is the result:

This weekend I did a few different crafts.

I knitted a doll:

I also made a crochet granny square:

And I learned kumihimo. I made my own tool, too.

:applesauce: very pretty. The doll is so sweet. And your new craft reminds me of spool knitting. Is it similar?

Yes, it is similar, and still different - it is a way of complicated braiding made easy. :)

You'll be interested in this place then: http://www.careycompany.com/" target="_blank

I wanted to preorder her Elizabethan Stitching book, but she's obviously into braiding in a big way.

I just spent the past 15 minutes browsing through the pics of all your wonderful creations. I am in awe of how well you knit/crochet. I was oooh'ing and ahhh'ing at all the sweaters. And I absolutely love this hat.

I met someone last week in a new crafting group who knits and wanted ideas on how to add names to some stockings she's knitted. I really didn't know what to tell her, so after seeing your work I thought I'd ask you. What do you think?

Dawn, sorry, I haven´t seen your post earlier. I actually never name my projects, so I really don´t know. But perhaps the colour of the yarn would be a good way to start? Or the pattern?

Here is my lovely boyfriend turned into a supermodel.  I have reknitted the sleeves. Now the shoulders fit but the sleeves have become a bit short. I have had enough of this thing. So disappointed in myself. I soooooo wanted it to be perfect. :( :( :(

Anyway, that´s it, I have given up, told him, if he can wear it, good, if it feels uncomfortable, he can hang it up and look at it.

:applesauce: It turned out very pretty. Its a shame that the sleeves are too short. Still, it fits and it is the thought that counts. I'm sure he appreciates it.

Lovely pattern, and the sleeves, though perhaps a trifle short, are perfectly wearable! (as is proved by him wearing it so decoratively)
