Here is the latest update

URL=http://s1095.photobucket.com/albums/i47 ... 0001-5.jpg]Image[/URL]

I have now finished all of the skirt and on the left hand bit - which goes right up to the waist and under the flowers - I have started back stitching using DMC 3760.
I dislike intensely using dark greys/blacks on almost anything so have played around and decided on this bright darker blue/teal shade.

The gap running through it is for the stole/shawl/scarf thingy. Which I might take away to do.

Sorry no update next week as I am in Melbourne from Wed through Sunday and doubt I will get a lot of stitching done in a house with 3 GC 7-,15,17.

and another wee update this morning showing more back stitching.

Image

Not sure about using the teal thread on the coat which will be all pinks/mauve's - see right hand side where there is a little bit done.

:wub: the backstitching is looking great on the blue area! I'm not sure I like the blue bs on the pink area though, I'd be apt to want to try a slightly darker shade of pink/mauve, maybe slightly lighter in color than the thread you are using to graph with? Love this one!! :wub:

:applesauce: I agree with Karen that the teal bs looks great on the blue but maybe a darker shade of the the pink/mauve on the pink area? Overall I love your stitching on this one. It already has that lovely flow in the skirt that makes these designs so elegant. :applesauce:

Thanks Karen and Carole and it is what I will most likely do when I have more of the coat done.

Spent the afternoon trying to do the small fallen rose on the lower skirt - had it frogged 3 times before I got it right. Kept doing 2 stitch over 3 and not 2 plus I've hit a patch of fliffed up fabric which is a pain to work around. Still now got the flower sorted and its away in its basket - just right for HM to relax in whilst I am away.

Sally

PS Might take the cat one with me and do a bit more on that.
