Yippee!!! I'm so excited!! I went to Gittas (http://www.gittas.com/) today and got tan coloured hardanger fabric, all the floss (except for 2 colours they didn't have), baggies for my floss, a Q-snap and I am ready to go!!!
I will post some photos when I get home later tonight.
Here's a shot my husband took of me and the chart. We've marked the center and I'm going to tape it up tonight. The size of this one is insane - it's the biggest thing I've ever done. I'm lying down next to it for scale - haha!
Big chart! I don't tape my HAED up. Or, I'm doing my first one, and I haven't taped it up. Just doing a page at a time starting from the top left as suggested, like a good girl. (Unusual, but does happen from time to time.) As it's a pdf, I can print pages as I need them.

I have always started from the middle and even today the lady at the shop suggested I do that. It's what I'm comfortable with and with the q-snap, i think it'll be pretty easy.
Last night I got "Warm and Fuzzy Kitten" in the mail and I actually started it - usually I stick with one project at a time but I am so excited to start this HAED that I will work on both.
I'm having a great time with my HAED, I must say. I thought it would be really tedious not being able to make out quite what's happening at the start, but it's not been like that at all. I'm using 25ct Dublin Linen, which is a bit loose, but I'm getting on quite well-- should, actually, update my SAL...
Yes you should, Serinde. and mimers make sure you do a SAL for yours also. I think the most fun of doing an HAED is when all of a sudden what seems to be a mishmash of colors that make no sense begin to take shape and a real part of the design shows. I am continuously suprised when that happens.

I just started my second HAED last night, really should start sals on those soon, and thought about taping my pattern together but than I looked at the pages and I have 36 pages and decieded not too. Just going to work one page at a time.
An Angel in the book of life wrote down my baby's birth. And whispered as she closed the book "too beautiful for earth."

I've never done anything as large as a HAED so the number of chart pages boggles my mind. How will you manage all the pages taped together? Won't it become a bit unwieldy? Even folded up it'll be bulky.
Hope you don't mind me asking. . .

Yeah.. Happy to hear Gittas could help you out. I'm glad I stopped in when I was in Toronto.. took a bit of figuring out how to get there but it was worth the trip. I think it helps to look and touch and feel.. and ask questions.. when you're trying something for the first time.
Enjoy your new project.
