Oooooooo both of those are on my to do list from TGOSM! I have nothing to add about Eternas, I've never used these before (Mabel will be along to help.....). I think I'm planning on stitching mine with either HDFs or Glorianas on some lovely hand dyed fabric. Interested to see what you decide to go for!

The website is a bit confusing, but if in the left-hand menu you first click on Solid Shade Silks and then on Stranded that gets you to the solid stranded silks (not surprisingly ) or just click here
Eterna is a lovely way of trying out a practically flat silk for not too much money, and they have an absolutely dazzling array of colours.
Do bear in mind that flat silk can be tricky to work with -- it will snag on practically anything, although on the other hand it is usually quite easy to put right again by running your fingers along it or stroking it with your needle.
And the shine is just amazing !

Aren't they just lovely? I plan on stitching them for my boyfriend's sisters.
I just noticed that Bramble and the Rose was stitch with Carrie's Creation threads. I've ordered from her before, and have nothing but positive things to say. I might end up going with hers instead. Although, I signed up for the Eterna newsletter and received a coupon code for $5 off.

Stranded! I thought that is what I need, but wasn't positive.
What's the difference between the stranded and the twist?

It's like the difference between stranded cotton and perle cotton. Perle is indivisible (you use it as it comes) and tightly twisted; the higher the number, the thinner the thread.

Just like the higher the number on fabric, the small the squares. Got it.
Thank you so much for your help!
I know one sister's favorite color... now just waiting to find out the other's so I can go ahead and figure out which threads I need.

For Nate's sister Lis, I'll be using a purple thread. I saw a few different shades of amethyst on the Eterna website. Lis thinks Cara's favorite color is orange, but I'm waiting for a confirmation on that.

Ooooo I like Sprite (I have this exact fabric in mind for another project) - but then I am a purple freak so you wouldn't expect me to disagree....... . I'm planning on stitching this design on this fabric incase you needed any more proof of what my favourite colour is!!!

Now I'm thinking about just getting the fabric in their favorite color, and a white floss. I'm sure I'll change my mind a few more times before I finally make a final decision.

What's an offset colour?
It is. He's helped me many times at picking out colors. Plus, it's nice to receive a painting that was done just for me.
I probably used the wrong word. He suggested, for instance, getting a darker purple fabric and lighter purple floss. Or lighter fabric and darker floss. I'm still not sure which way I'm going to go.

Oh I see; yes that sounds rather nice -- not colour-on-white or white-on-colour but lighter-shade-on-darker or darker-shade-on-lighter. A bit more subtle perhaps than the white version, although white on a light blue is lovely and subtle too, and white on a dark colour can look very striking.
There are just so many possibilities!!!!
