Thanks for all the lovely comments. I'm really enjoying doing this Hardanger but I can't take credit for the colour choice of the card. It's Mabel's design and colour choice to the letter so it couldn't be anything other than mouthwatering.

So now you're doing Hardanger on 28ct linen -- well, what can I say :-) ducks to water spring to mind! The bookmark is gorgeous, and I may pinch the idea of using linen band that way :thinks: :thinks: :D

The use of linen wasn't plain sailing, I can assure you!!!! There was more than a little frogging when I missed the intended hole and didn't realise for a bit  . Maybe I need stronger glasses!!

Pinch away all you like Mabel, as if it wasn't for you I'd never have attempted it in the first place!

 I've taken the plunge and have 'designed' the first of my very own Hardanger projects.
Image

It was very much an experiment using graph paper and I don't think I've got it quite lined up properly, but it looks ok as an experiment.
The reason for the dabbling is that although the job I'm in pays the bills, I look forward to going to work less and less and would dearly love to be working for myself. So I'm seriously thinking of trying to do something with this obsession, something like handmade cards. Cross stitch ones would take far too long, but I recon the Hardanger ones would be much quicker when I get better at it!! Therefore I need my OWN designs. I could do with a computer programme which allows me to do Hardanger. I was looking at Jane Greenoff's today as a contender, as it looks fairly wasy to use and seems to do what I want it for. Any feedback from you lovely people would be gratefully received. Thanks

I love the colours you've chosen. I think if that was a card I'd want a little more space between the bottom of the pink design and top of the green designs. Very pretty work.

I'm so impressed that you're already starting on your own designs! The colours look great - so bright and vibrant.
