Thanks Theresa. Amazing how the same thing can look so different with different colors. That's how it was with TOS and this one should be really fun. I have to check and see if my fabric came in. Then maybe I can get it next week. I think I am going to practice the stitches on some scrap fabric first.

I'm hoping to start this weekend. I haven't had time to look at the SAL section for a while, has someone set up a thread for this one yet?

My fabric dropped through the letterbox this morning and I was almost reluctant to open the parcel, in case the colour was not what I hoped..but it is exactly what I wanted, a muted dusky pink  I am going to change that Anchor cream colour on the right hand side for DMC Ecru. I choose my colour scheme with Sweet Peas in mind. I love the pinks and purples in Sweet Peas. The darker beads are a matt dark purple. Still no metallic choice yet.

Sweet Peas - Love it :) The fabric is gorgeous. Those colours are going to look really good together.

I'm itching to start mine. I spent yesterday afternoon pressing and hemming fabric for various projects including this one. I couldn't press the fold marks out of the fabric for this though so I've had to wash it and now it needs pressing again. Sigh.

Those two in the gallery look so different, don't they.

Whoever starts stitching first should start the thread, I would think.

Oh dear, stashitis has struck again! I have no willpower  Have just ordered my fabric for this - 32 ct Murano Lugana in Georgian from Polstitches. Though having splashed out on the fabric, think will be using DMC floss for the stitching!

I was being so good staying away from the Papillon website, then someone stole my willpower and before I knew it I had signed up! Guess I had better have a look through my fabric stash to see if I have a piece, other than white, that is big enough. If not I guess I'll have to order some, and won't that be a hardship!

I'm justifying it on the grounds of my New York project being a long one, and this will be a little break once a month.............

Noooo. Fabric disaster. I've just pressed it again and those fold marks won't come out. I think they're actually fade marks from where it was folded. My fabric has two distinct white lines running the whole length of it :(

I think I'm going to cry.

I was going to start it at the weekend too

Oh no Carole. Was it a fabric you have had for a long time? Maybe it will work for a different project, but now you have to get new fabric. That is a shame. Well, it is since you planning on starting this week-end. Are you sure its faded? Not just super creased?

I only bought it two weeks ago. It was specially for this project as it was such a large piece. It's definitely faded. I thought it was just strong creasing at first. That's why I washed it, but the creases are all out now and the lines are still quite distinct.

I could only really use the part between the lines so it's only suitable for very small projects now. It was 39" x 27" so that's rather annoying. I've emailed the place I bought it from but I'm not sure if they'll want to change it after I've cut it, pressed it, washed it and hemmed it

Gah!

But it shouldn't have faded in only 2 weeks. 2 years maybe, but not 2 weeks. I hope they replace it for you. That would be good customer relations.

Oh Carole what a disappointment! But really it shouldn't fade that quickly, it suggests that they had it folded on a shelf somewhere for quite some time with the folds exposed to light, and they really should have checked before sending. I hope they'll be reasonable about it!

That's what I'm thinking too Mabel. I've left it in the bag it was sold in and put it straight in the pending project box, so I haven't creased it any further and I haven't exposed it to light.

Usually the folds always just press out so I was surprised when these didn't to be honest. I wondered if it was because of the type of fabric. It's Brittney which does feel a little different to most of the other fabrics I've used.
