If that includes all the pattern books I have accumulated over the years, I can't count that high!

Do you count books and if so each design in a book or each book as 1 design
If I'm honest I have far more than I will ever stitch and could possibly re decorate my entire street with them

Re: How many patterns are in your stash?
Counting only single printed patterns, it's not too bad, really, but when it comes to magazines...
One thing is my WOCS-subscribtion, but I tend to "hoard" various cross stitch magazines when I'm abroad, since the selection in Norway is rather poor... I usually buy the magazines even if I don't find any projects that I immidiately like, since I might like them once in the future....

Re: How many patterns are in your stash?
Patterns I have actually purchased but not stitched: probably 15-20
Patterns and freebies I have found online and saved, others have ripped out of mags and sent me, patterns as part of a newsletter or online stitch-board SAL's (like Stitch Specialists Tree and Great Escape, AAN's 2010 and 2011 SAL's, Tea Cups): At least 75.. probably more but I don't want to do the count

Masses. And I have about 30 kits that I've not stitched yet as well. Some of them pretty big.

Re: How many patterns are in your stash?
hahahaha.. restrained isn't usually the word I think of.
I am a picky pattern purchaser... how's that for a mouthfull?
I have to really looove a chart to buy it. And it has to have a purpose- a gift, a wedding, a baby, a spot on a wall, a teacup that needs to be a pin cushion. Just because its cute doesn't usually do it for me. (my exception was the Eskimos I finished a few months ago- bought the pattern first then I figured out where I would put them)
So I ooogle many more than I actually purchase.

Re: How many patterns are in your stash?
Well, I'm not about to go count the individual patterns, magazines, books, and tear-outs I've collected over the years (& still add to). Plus, all the freebies I've downloaded & saved onto disks. Let's just say, I should never want for something to stitch, and this is after doing several purges in the last few years!!
A lot of them I would like to do just because of the challenge, or I think they are cute or nice looking. Rarely do I have an idea of what I will do with it after it is stiched.
I do however, keep lists of the ABC and the 12 Days of Christmas charts I have that I would like to get stitched into ornaments sometime in this lifetime. There are at least 87 ABC sets on the list (12 which are done) and 30 12 DoC (5 which have the whole set done).
Obsessed? Not at all!!

My answer would incriminate me.I'll just say I've been chart collecting for around 25 years

Ditto. If I had to actually count the number of charts it would take days, literally days to count them all. And that is only cross stitch, I also have chrochet, and quilting patterns. Then there are the books for scrapping and the paper and the stickers and and and...........
Now you can understand why I have a full room for my crafting.

Re: How many patterns are in your stash?
Far too many to count even now after downsizing to move to Aus then downsizing again to move up here. Like Rose there are also quilting books, some dressmaking patterns, knitting patterns card making things by the mile.
No not counting thanks.

Re: How many patterns are in your stash?
ok, i'll have a go ...
I've only gotten back into cross stitch a year ago, this month. and in that time i've gotten 10 or so freebies from the internet, 3 books of charts as gifts, 6 kits of christmas ornaments, 10 other kits (mostly samplers and christmas scenes) and 5 HAED charts.
i can only imagine what i'd have if i hadn't stopped stitching for 15 years!

Re: How many patterns are in your stash?
I tend to be drawn to BAPs, so am fairly restrained when it comes to charts, simply because I'd like to think I'll live long enough to stitch them all
Also, the count's gone down a little as I've been tempted to have 3 projects on the go at once.
Otherwise, I've actually got 2 books, 3 BAPS (2 HAEDS and 1 Chatelaine), 2 mediumish designs, about 9 or so small designs (most of which I'll use as motifs/cards and 1 hardanger book and 3 of Mabel's hardanger designs.
But there again, I have the promise of the gift of any of my FIL's charts that he no longer wants and as he's been collecting for about 15 years, that would be rather a lot!
And when I think of the wishlist.....

Re: How many patterns are in your stash?
I've got a fair collection of things from magazines (often secondhand -- I'm a great car-booter), and online freebies. Kits -- very few, just some small Victoria Sampler type things and one white-on-raw-linen sampler which I bought for £5 at the K&S show two years ago. Charts -- about 5 Ink Circles ones, and a My Big Toe design. And of course anything I've designed myself but not yet stitched...

Re: How many patterns are in your stash?
A year ago, when I first got back into cross stitch, I had the grand total of about 2 kits and no charts. Now, even though I still only have 2 unstitched kits, I have goodness knows how many charts. They are mostly from books or magazines.
My wish list, however, is as long as both of my arms put end to end! I'm trying very hard not to impulse buy but finding it hard. I think I will probably lose that battle eventually.
Add to all that is the stitchy stuff I've acquired. The threads, new scissors, needles, Q snaps, etc, etc. The storage boxes and bags, floor stand, Ott light. . . .
The scary part is, I got to this point in only a year. So, add a few more years. . . well . . . . .
