Hi to all

Post by subtle_minx »

Hi Everyone,
There's not much to say about me really. I am based in London and
I am a complete newbie to crafting and haven't done anything like this since
primary school(I'm 30 now). It was recommended by health professionals as a
method to disengage and relax more. Apperently my body is constantly in a 'fight
or flight' mode releasing stress hormones etc and exasperating my M.E/ CFS
Please also note that due to my ill health, I can be a bit of a lurker and it can take me a while to respond.
Though I am trying to be more social and happy to chat to anyone. :)

Anyway, I seem to have caught the bug and have been increasing my stash with mags, books, thread etc
and have various project ideas for the forseeable.

Ciao for now

Rina

 Hello Rina, and welcome to the forum from South Carolina. We are so glad you found our forum. Stitching is a wonderful way of relaxing (at least it is for me) and certainly for helping to distract from day to day worries and such. I hope that it will do the same for you. And this is a great place to get encouragment and information and support. Someone is usually around because I think we live in just about every time zone there is. Join in whenever you want to. Have you started any projects yet?

Welcome to the forum... Stitching can be quite relaxing. I hope it helps give your body the relief it needs. Are you working on anything in particular right now?

Hi Rina - welcome to the forum! Cross stitch is great for relaxing and just 'turning off' - just ask any of my family who get ignored when I've got a needle in my hand
I'm still quite new to this craft and really new to this forum but everyone is friendly and will make you very welcome!
I hope you feel able to join in with posting when you are able to and enjoy finding your way around the forum and getting to know us all a bit better.
hugs

Hello Rena, Welcome from Newcastle in Australia. I agree with what everyone else has said about crafting, and stitching in particular, being a good way to relax and shut out a world of stress. Look forward to seeing your projects.

Welcome Rina. I've only joined recently but am enjoying the variety of people and topics. Have had my own problems, possibly akin to yours, in the past and do hope you find a way through. To concentrate on creating something beautiful did help me relax and to stop stressing about other things. Hope it works for you...
Keep in touch,please
