Hello from me

Post by Midge »

Thought I'd say hello to you all.
My name is Helen and I have recently returned to cross stitch after being "away" for about 5 yrs.
I am married and have 2 young children. We live in Yorkshire.
The project I am working on at the moment is Teresa Wentzler's Peacock Tapestry. It is a huge project and has lots of thread combining and metalic threads too.
Bye for now.
2022 is yet another year of the UFO!!
Great Wall of China,
Peacocks and Pheasants,
Birds of a feather,
Hardanger Table runner,
TW Peacock Tapestry,

Yes, they are all STILL in progress!

Hello, Helen, and welcome!

I hope you will enjoy the forum, we are a friendly bunch here and try to be as helpful to each other as possible! (even more, sometimes  ) Please, jump right in, take part in all the fun and set up a gallery - we like to see what others are working on. Why not start a SAL thread for your peacock? It would be nice to see it develop.

Hi Helen,
Welcome to the forum. :D
I agree with Agi, please start a thread in the SAL section so that we can follow your progress along on this piece :wip: . It sounds like it would be a great one to watch develop.

Hope you enjoy it here.

Welcome to the forum from the West of Scotland. You are the brave one (no, not for joining us, although...) but to return to stitching via any of TW's designs. They are wonderful, but complicated. Can't wait to see your progress. In the meantime, just jump in: we love newbies and rarely bite. :)

Girls you are going to scare the newbie and that just wouldn't be right. Tu Tu

Hi Helen, amd welcome really we don't bite. T-bear and Jilly may steal your chocolate and stash but they are actually pretty tame. Wow jumping back in with a TW design is brave. Her work is beautiful, but very complicated. But since this was just a 5 year sabbatical your not really a newbie to stitching, and it is like riding a bike once you learn you never forget. Hope you find some thing here to entertain and enlighten you.

Hi Helen and another welcome. Your current project sound very exciting. I hope you will post us some updates in the SIP thread to let us all see how it is progressing. There are quite a few of us working on big projects and you've come to the right place if you need encouragement to keep it going at all. Looking forward to getting to know you.

Welcome Helen. This is a great bunch here. And welcome back to stitching. I had not stitched in quite a lengthy period also, but found it does come right back just as Rose said, and there has been alot of excititng changes in the world of cross stitch. There is so much available. I hope you feel right at home here. I'm very anxious to see your TW peacock, her work is gorgeous.

Hi Helen, welcome! Looking forward to seeing the peacock you're working on -- I love TW designs but so far have only been brave enough to download the chart for a small needlecase (and even that I haven't started on yet...)
I saw your posting in the Other Crafts thread -- how lovely to be doing such diverse things!
