Great update Sally!! This one is so pretty and you've made great progress on her!! I know exactly what you mean about the hair--JE designs always seem to have long flowing hair, which looks nice but usually can be a huge challenge to stitch!! Great idea on the 1 over one on her arms, neck and face!! It really should give it some fantastic dimension!

Phew what a relief. I am keen to do the Lady's face in 1 over 1 and did start over the neck area with 1 colour but rapidly got "lost" in counting up and out 1 or 2 to the next row so decided to do some of the hair which gives me the standard 2over2 of the rest of it as a guide to where I am going.

You may remember I started it at the top of the head and got lost quickly so restarted down the bottom. In doing the 1 'line' of 2over 2 upwards I find that I would have been a 10x10 square out if I had kept going. Thankfully I didn't so ed what I had started and just took it too the top line with 1 stitch a row.

Off to do some of the neck/face area - after I get the washing in, my bed made and 2 dresses ironed - that should allow my lunch to digest a bit before I sit over my frame to stitch for a while.

The Lady Rose has a face at last - and done 1 over 1 with much anguish and swearing - the threads kept shredding!!




I will take a break before I tackle the confetti of the hair - at least half of it is flowers and ribbons.

This is one of Joan's designs I've not been too familiar with, but it's really beautiful and it so good to see it being stitched, you are doing a fantastic job.
