Hi i need some advice please, I have unpicked some stitching and now I have finshed the project the unpicked part is still pretty obvious to my eye, I have washed and pressed it and tried to steam the unpicked part a bit more but I can still tell where it is, does anyone have any advice on how to get rid of it?
Is the unpicked part now not covered by stitching? Also, what is obvious about it? Can you see bits of the stitching thread in it, or is it that the holes look larger because they have been stitched through? If it's that you can see bits of the thread clinging to the fabric, you could try dabbing the fabric lightly with some sticky tape to take away the thread fibres.
If you have a picture, we could also let you know whether we can spot the area too. Sometimes things are obvious because we've worked with them so closely, but no-one else can actually see what we're worried about.

Sorry I knew I was not explaining it very well, no the material is not stitched over I unpicked the background mountains on my castle project as I did not think they added anything to the finished piece.
Now the holes in the aida look bigger than the rest. I have taken a photo of it but I am starting to think I shall just have to restitch them and live with it as the bigger holes will annoy me evermore lol
Thanks for looking and any more suggestions before I get my needle back out lol
How does it look if you line the back with a piece of white fabric? If it doesn't show then stitch the lining to the edges of the stitching and streth in the normal way. I have had to do this a couple of times, one reason I don't use aida any more.
How about if you rub/manipulate the fabric together over the 'holed' area.
As it's aida it may help to settle the threads of the fabric back together again.
Is this piece going to be framed???? If so try stretching or blocking it when it is a bit damp and that should help move the stitches I really can't seem to much difference but of course it is something in your head so you will alays pick it up when you look.
If you are looking for some one to help change you, look in the mirror

On the back, run it over gently on the back. A piece of stiff velvet or a clothes brush can work too, just don't use a red one (for some reason the colour lifts).
after it's washed and stretched it should appear normal.
if not..then put some white fabric onto the back

Thank you all for the advice, I think I was being a bit over critical and although it had been washed and pressed I rewashed it and pressed it again and it's hardly noticeable anymore and the framer said this morning when I dropped it off, that he feels with the white backing and once he has stretched it that it will not look any different so I look forward to getting it back next week now.
