Well.. baptism was on Sunday.. and I am nowhere near being finished.
I am maybe half way through this piece.
I have all the eyelets, wrapped bars and doves eyes yet to do.
Eh well.. I showed my friend what has been completed so far. As she is a crafter
she knows things happen and was surprised at how much I was able to get finished in such a short amount of time.

:applesauce: That is lovely. So delicate and elegant. :applesauce: Maybe it can be used for another baby? I'm glad that your friend understood how hard it can be to meet deadlines sometimes.

Oh he'll still get it.. just late is all
And I told my friend that I want it back in August because I am going to submit this for judging at the Fair this year (depending on how consistent my doves eyes are) Its a good thing we are such good friends thats its no big deal this is late.. and when it is finished, only after I get it back from judging is it his to keep forever and ever.
His real gift was a savings bond (like my godfather did for me)
The hankie bonnet was just extra

Its so beautiful and delicate and I am sure it will be treasured always.

What fabulous idea to put it in the Fair later in the year.

Well done on this lovely one

Lookie what I have an update on
I am finally done with the eyelets.. they seemed to take me FOREVER
I was so bored with doing them.
But I powered through last week so I could finally be done with them.
Now its onto the wrapped bars and doves eyes.

Now I have started thinking about how I am going to submit this to the Fair.
I think it needs to be on a head frame.. but I want something nicer than styrofoam.
So I've been looking at antique stores and such for a hat stand, or a wire head.
No luck yet- but I am on a mission.

This is a beautiful piece of work, and I think you are quite justified in submitting it to the fair. Good luck!

If no head stand (as it were), would a baby doll work?

That is looking fabulous Maggie. I like Serinde's idea of a doll to show it off.

Good luck with the fair.
