WWWwwweeeeeeee I saw it as soon as the picture came up. Didn't even have to take a walk back that looks really good. I love doing the faces first.

Ahh! I think I know why it looks like I have a master craftsman for a hubby, I seem to have given the impression he carved the chess set, rather than just owning one,(it is actually resin, looks carved  ) If I gave my hubby a lump of wood and asked him to create something with it he would, a big bump on my head

I see what happened now -- I misread "He has a carved LOTR chess set" for "he has carved a LOTR chess set"

Perhaps he is clever in other things :-)?

Oh I see his face! Looking really good! Hopefully the surrounding bits won't be too boring. It looks like you've done a lot of work pretty quickly!

I just love Tree Beard - one of my favourite characters in Lord of the Rings - (apart from the elves) I love there slooowwwness. He is beautiful, and as I pictured him, I think I would just want to put him up as a hanging and admire him. I would love to see the finished picture, have fun with him, he is delightful.
