First Christmas Stocking - Update 23rd July

Post by summer81 »

I have finally started stitching up my first ever Christmas Stocking! I have wanted to do some for years and finally decided on the designs I wanted and ordered from 123 Stitch.

The first one I am working on is Candy Cane Dimensions Gold for my fur baby. This is my first ever Dimensions pattern and I am really enjoying watching it come to life.

Thanks everyone for looking :D

This is what it will look like:

This is after 2 weeks progress:

I LOVE that. I love Santa Claus...in fact, my next piece with Santa Clause inspired. Haven't found just what I want yet but I will! Yours looks like it will be fun to stitch.

Thanks for all your kind comments. This has been interesting to stitch up with so many different numbers of threads used for different stitches.

Here's an update of where I am up to. I have decided to do BS as i go to cut down on the amount and the end and I also wanted to see Santa's face :D

I also thought I'd post a picture of my stitchy friend, Polly....she's great company while I stitch away....except as you can see she doesnt like it when I wake her up

Thanks for looking

Great update - you certainly are moving ahead with this one really well. :applesauce: :applesauce: Great idea to do the back stitch as you go, it does save a lot of angst at the end.

Santa has nice face too.

Love Polly, she is gorgeous. Hope you don't disturb her naps too often.

great progress :applesauce: . good idea to do the backstitiching as you go. I've started doing that too. Makes it less tiresome.

:applesauce: great progress on the stocking. I used to do the backstitch as I went also. Mostly because I love seeing something develop No bs on the HAEDs and I don't miss it, but I never hated it as some do. Polly is adorable. I bet she went right back to sleep. She does look a bit annoyed at being awakened.

Wow...that stocking looks amazing already! There is a real depth of colours in it :applesauce:

I'm presuming that Polly is the recipient...if so she is one lucky poochy!! I have often thought about doing a stocking myself...the bit that scares me though is the finishing....cross stitching I can do....normal sewing and me don't get along so great though!!
