HAED Queen of Hearts 3rd June 12

New to the forum and thought I would post my progress with my HAED right away

I started this 8 days ago and today I completed page one! 48 more to go, this will be huge.

I know this is one of the most popular HAED designs over the years, but I thought one more stitching her couldn't hurt

great progress. I wish I could get my HAEDs done that quickly. That is one of the most beautiful charts which is probably why its popular. Its going to be fun watching this one develop. Congratulations on finishing page 1. Looking forward to your next updates.

I think the first page only took me 8 days as most of it was black and I didn't have to refer to the chart a lot as I stitched the purple bits first and then sat back and filled in the black whilst watching TV. I also found myself picking it up to stitch a few more black stitches whilst I cooked/cleaned and generally whilst pottering around at home.

I don't think every page will be so fast as I am getting to more detail as I go along.

I'm guessing I shall be spending a few years stitching her lol

I am doing one with a huge amount of black background also. and it was my first HAED. It is almost a year and I have completed about 6 and 1/2 pages. There are several others here with HAEDs with lots of background and we are very good at encouraging if it starts to feel tedious. I was so excited when I got to do a few stitches in 3371 but some other colors have started showing up so I'm staying motivated on that one. What fabric are you using? Are you doing 2 over 1? This is going to be gorgious when completed.

Lovely design. Well done on getting the first page done so quickly!
Do you have trouble with the coverage? It looks great on your picture. I'm asking because it's a dark design on white fabric and I'm wondering about show through.

I'm stitching her on 20 count fabric with two threads, I tried 18 count at first and found I did have show through so changing to 20 count made the coverage so much better for me. I was concerned with the dark colours on white and 20 count seems good.

I was really excited when I discovered that there was a little bit of red to stitch amongst all the black, the next page has more red in it, and the tip of her wing also, so should be exciting to reach one of her wings, then page 3 is the top her head I think. Thinking ahead keeps me motivated for now.

I'm so glad I found this forum, no one really understands the effort that goes into stitching except other stitchers, it's so nice to chat with you all.

Very nice indeed! Kudos on your 8 day page!! I've stitched pages that are mainly one colour too but they certainly took me longer than that!!

Beautiful work!!!!!!! Once you have enough post you can look in the gallery and this one has been done a couple of times. It might inspire you when the time gets going. Congrates on a fast start!!!!!!

That design is indeed popular, but it's a for a reason so it's always great to see it pop up again. Last one here was finished right after I joined the forums, so I think it's cool I get to follow it from the start now.
