Miracle horses Framed and given!

Post by Fizzbw »

This is a medium BAP that I'm doing as fast as I can as a present for a dear friend who's husband is very ill. I've been looking for something for her for years and I found this one on a scoot round 123 stitch.

http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51yKv9J3kDL.jpg" target="_blank" target="_blank" target="_blank" target="_blank" target="_blank" target="_blank" target="_blank

It's a loooooooooooot of confetti and short colour changes, more so even than Carousel Dancer and it's 9 pages long. I've had them blown up to A3 size and it's a real help as none of the colours flow if you know what I mean. I think I'll need to do a lot of flowing designs afterwards!!

But it's fun and it's a way to help me not to just fret about it. It's being done on dove grey 16 count aida 2 over 1.

Image

The pic doesn't begin to do justice to the blends of colour! I started on the 15th June. I reckon it taking me 3 months?

I'm also doing the Pixel People, Firefly crew, this one I take with me when I help out with Derrick, he sleeps a lot of the time but won't stay with anyone else but me. This keeps me occupied and also makes him feel ok to just lie down. I also do Reiki for him as well. Progress so far:

Image

Doing this on mauve 25 count evenweave, with 3 over 2. Inara (lass in red dress) has metallic on bottom of dress and belt. It's my first use of Petite Treasure braid. I forgot my thread heaven so so far it's about the same as Krenick.

:applesauce: great progress on the horses. That is a gorgeous design. I know your friend will more than appreciate it. And the firefly people are so cute (though I know that isn't the way they would like to be described). Looking forward to your updates on these.

Beautiful design, and great stitching! I can see how those greys are more wisps than flowing, but it does add to the beauty.

I'm going to do regular updates of this one as I really need your encouragement!

First page complete!

Image

That one took me 6 days. I've got into a rhythm with it, although it is all confetti, it's kind of layered so I just highlight and stitch each colour across the width. In the lighter area it's more widespread but I end up with only one colour left to fill in.

Interestingly I picked up my magnifier which I have never got on with before, to help with the poor light at my friends house, and now I'm using it all the time! Strange how suddenly things become easier to use.
