Boofle Baby Sampler - FRAMED

Hey all,

Just a quick post to update you on my most recent (and possibly quickest ever??) stitch!

My friend asked me on MONDAY (25th) if it would be possible to stitch a baby sampler for her to give as a Christening present.

'Of course - I don't mind!' I say.

And then she tells me its for next week. WEDNESDAY (4th) to be precise, when she travels to Ireland for the Christening!

So it needs to be finished by Monday preferably, or delivered on Tuesday at the VERY latest.

Stitched, framed, everything.


So off I trot to Hobbycraft (Monday afternoon), and find a cute kit which is, if I'm honest, slightly to big to be stitched in a week (on my track record).

BUT ...

Here it is as of an hour-or-so ago :




just have the name and date of birth to stitch, and am off to ikea tomorrow to find a frame

yay me!




Stitching on the Dumbo Afghan continues, but the baby arrived safely on the 19th! little cutie she is too!

Wow that was very quick. Not sure I would have agreed to such a fast stitch. People just don't understand stitching time do they? You are a great friend to have done this with such short notice. And it looks amazing.

I'm using 'Butterflies' which is lovely BUT the butterflies show through under light coloured stitches.

Rose - I'm with you on that. I've worked out I must have spent at least 40 hours on this over 5-and-a-half days, and that if I charged my friend the UK minimum wage for my time, I would have made almost £250!! (if only,lol)

I'm not sure I'd agree in the future - especially on the short timeframe - and I just REALLY hope she understands when she sees it just how much work I have put in
